My Sensor Won't Connect

** If you have recently completed a Firmware Update, it may be necessary to turn your Bluetooth completely OFF and back ON and forget the sensor in the Bluetooth section of the Settings app on your iOS Device. **

Troubleshooting your Motus sensor can be accomplished by following these 8 steps in order:

1. Plug the sensor in and verify that the LED lights up (See: LED Colors and Patterns)

STOP: If the sensor does not begin blinking red, green, or solid green after a few seconds, contact support and indicate that the sensor is not blinking while plugged in. If you were previously performing a firmware update, the LED may not illuminate even while plugged in. Proceed to the next step in this case.

2. Force quit any open Motus app and turn Bluetooth on your device OFF
3. Launch a Motus app and navigate to the Bluetooth screen within the Motus app
4. Swipe up from the bottom of the device to reveal the Control Center, turn Bluetooth ON

for motusTHROW, motusQB, or motusVB:

5. Tap the sensor name and then tap Connect.

STOP: If an alert says the sensor cannot be found, make sure there are no other devices already connected to the sensor

6. Verify that the sensor blinks 3 times and connects

STOP: If the sensor does not blink 3 times, contact support and indicate that the sensor does not blink 3 times while trying to connect

or

STOP: If the sensor blinks 3 times, but an alert is presented saying the sensor failed to connect, go to the Bluetooth section of the iPhone/iPad Settings app and forget the sensor

or

STOP: If the sensor is not listed in the Bluetooth section of the iPhone/iPad Settings app, contact support and indicate that you are unable to forget the sensor

for motus BATTING:

5. Verify that the sensor is listed as "Available"


STOP: If the sensor is listed as "Unavailable," make sure there are no other devices already connected to the sensor

or

STOP: If no other devices are connected to the sensor, contact support and indicate the sensor is listed as "Unavailable" while charging

6. Tap the sensor name to connect. Verify that the sensor blinks 3 times and connects.

STOP: If the sensor does not blink 3 times, contact support and indicate that the sensor does not blink 3 times while trying to connect

or

STOP: If the sensor blinks 3 times, but an alert is presented saying the sensor failed to connect, go to the Bluetooth section of the iPhone/iPad Settings app and forget the sensor

or

STOP: If the sensor is not listed in the Bluetooth section of the iPhone/iPad Settings app, contact support and indicate that you are unable to forget the sensor

7. Once connected, unplug the sensor from the charger and verify that it remains connected to the device

STOP: If the sensor disconnects immediately after unplugging, contact support and indicate that the sensor disconnects immediately after unplugging

8. Exit the bluetooth screen back to the main Tab Bar screen. Perform a single throwing/batting action and verify that the sensor blinks twice and that the bluetooth indicator in the app changes to the "Available Data" state.

STOP: If the sensor does not blink twice, contact support and indicate that your sensor will not register events.
