Creating Athletes and Trainers (Beginner)

Why is this useful?

You need athletes to perform most functions in TRAQ. Creating athletes one at a time can take a while, copying and pasting your roster is much quicker and allows facilities to quickly add all of their athletes.

There are two ways for a trainer to create athletes in TRAQ: Single Athlete Creation and Mass Athlete Creation. These are both done from the Manage Athletes tab.

Single Athlete Creation

The mandatory fields for single athlete creation are email, First Name, Last Name, Password, Birthday, Height (in), Weight (lbs). Each email can only be used for one TRAQ account, so an athlete will not be able to be created if he/she already has an account under that email address. If the athlete is under 14 years old, guardian information is required to use certain features of TRAQ. The PitchAI tool pulls directly from Height and Weight entered on a TRAQ profile.

Mass Athlete Creation

Similar to Single Athlete Creation, the mandatory fields for Mass Athlete Creation are email, First Name, Last Name, Height (in), Weight (lbs). In order to create athletes, the columns for Program and Trainer all need to be filled out as well. If nothing is entered in those columns, the default setting will be Pitching/Hitting for Program and the Trainer will be the trainer who uploaded the roster file.

Each email can only be used for one TRAQ account, so an athlete will not be able to be created if he/she already has an account under that email address.

Note: The format for the roster import csv data is strict, specifically in terms of date for the Birthday field. It must be in mm/dd/yyyy format.

Trainer Creation

Only trainers listed as Facility Admin can create other trainers. Any trainer can be made a Facility Admin by editing their profile through the Manage Trainer tab that is available to all current Facility Admins. Facility Admin privileges only come with a paid TRAQ subscription.

The Create Trainer template is similar to the create athlete template, but with many less mandatory fields. The only mandatory fields are: Email, First Name, Last Name, Password.

Only one TRAQ account can be associated with each email address, including athlete and trainer accounts. If someone is a trainer and an athlete, they need two different accounts under two different email addresses.

FAQs

  • I get an error when uploading the roster template
    • Have them send it into support. Most likely errors are formatting errors or athletes who already have TRAQ accounts.
