Should I lift in season?

Should I lift in season?

The answer is a resounding “yes.” We can lift during the season, but there are considerations we need to make. The first, and most important, is fatigue. We need to be cognizant about the amount of fatigue placed upon our athletes and how that fatigue is actually accumulated in the weight room. With the amount of competition innings that athletes are playing, we have to account for the toll that takes on them and program their lifts accordingly. The next thing we need to consider is the Volume vs. Intensity of the work done in the weight room. This article In-Season Lifting: Managing Volume, Intensity, and Fatigue contains more in sight on how to handle in-season lifting.
